Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive neighborhood revitalization projects including zoning amendments and transit-oriented development
- Analyze demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Facilitate community engagement sessions with diverse stakeholders and historically marginalized communities
- Coordinate with state/federal agencies on infrastructure grants and compliance with NEPA/Section 106
- Develop long-range sustainability plans aligned with Boston's Climate Action goals
- Manage GIS mapping and spatial analysis for urban design scenarios
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for City Council hearings and public review
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Expertise in zoning law, environmental review processes, and community development
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial analysis
- Strong quantitative skills with experience in demographic/economic modeling
- Proven ability to facilitate diverse community meetings and consensus-building
- Knowledge of Massachusetts land use regulations and federal grant programs
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license with clean record
