Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban development projects from conception through implementation
- Analyze zoning regulations and recommend policy improvements for equitable growth
- Coordinate with community boards and stakeholders to gather public input
- Prepare environmental impact statements and land use applications
- Manage GIS data analysis for urban modeling and demographic studies
- Present findings to City Council and Mayoral offices
- Mentor junior planners and supervise interdisciplinary project teams
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal planning or government sector
- Expertise in NYC zoning resolution and land use procedures
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Strong quantitative data analysis and report writing skills
- New York State driver's license required
- Experience with community engagement and public speaking
- Familiarity with NEPA and SEQPA review processes
