Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive land-use planning initiatives for coastal and inland communities
- Develop zoning codes and regulatory frameworks aligned with California's CEQA requirements
- Facilitate public workshops and stakeholder consultations for major development projects
- Analyze demographic trends and infrastructure capacity to inform long-term growth strategies
- Collaborate with transportation and environmental agencies on sustainable development projects
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for Board of Supervisors approval
- Mentor junior planning staff and supervise project implementation
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal or regional planning
- Valid California AICP certification required
- Expertise in GIS mapping and urban design software (ArcGIS, AutoCAD)
- Proven track record in community engagement and public speaking
- Knowledge of California environmental regulations and land-use policies
- Experience managing capital improvement projects over $5M
- Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive infrastructure projects
