Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive land-use planning projects and zoning ordinance updates
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and feasibility studies
- Facilitate public hearings and community engagement workshops
- Prepare technical reports and policy recommendations for city council
- Manage capital improvement projects aligned with strategic goals
- Coordinate with state and federal agencies on compliance matters
- Mentor junior planning staff and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in government
- Valid Florida AICP certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in GIS mapping and urban design principles
- Strong public speaking and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of Florida Growth Management Act and local regulations
- Proven track record of leading complex planning initiatives
