Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive land use plans and zoning regulations
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and compliance reviews
- Lead public outreach initiatives and community engagement sessions
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform policy recommendations
- Collaborate with engineering and transportation departments on infrastructure projects
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for City Council review
- Oversee compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal planning or government development
- Strong knowledge of California planning laws and CEQA regulations
- Proficiency in GIS software and urban planning analytics tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid California driver's license
- Experience with affordable housing policies and transit-oriented development
