As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional departments, community stakeholders, and elected officials to develop innovative solutions for urban challenges. Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive planning projects including general plan updates, community plans, and specific area plans
- Review complex development applications and provide expert recommendations on zoning compliance
- Conduct environmental impact analyses under CEQA guidelines
- Facilitate public meetings and stakeholder engagement processes
- Develop and present planning reports to the Planning Commission and City Council
- Manage planning projects from conception through implementation with budget oversight
- Mentor junior planners and coordinate with external consultants
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of professional urban planning experience
- Expertise in California planning regulations and CEQA compliance
- Proficiency in GIS software and planning analytics tools
- Strong public speaking and stakeholder engagement skills
- Valid California Driver's License
- Ability to obtain security clearance for government systems
