Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban planning projects including rezoning, waterfront development, and neighborhood revitalization
- Analyze zoning codes and land use regulations to propose policy reforms
- Facilitate community engagement sessions and public hearings
- Prepare environmental impact statements (EIS) and land use reviews
- Develop long-term sustainability plans for resilient urban infrastructure
- Coordinate with city agencies on cross-departmental initiatives
- Present findings to the City Planning Commission and Borough Boards
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Expertise in NYC zoning regulations and ULURP process
- Proficiency in GIS software and urban planning analytics tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public presentations
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of NYC's 2025 sustainability and equity goals
- NYS driver's license required for field site visits
