Responsibilities
- Lead complex urban planning projects including rezoning applications and neighborhood studies
- Analyze demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform strategic planning initiatives
- Collaborate with community boards, elected officials, and private developers on development proposals
- Prepare comprehensive environmental impact statements and land use reviews
- Manage long-range planning initiatives including climate resilience and affordable housing policies
- Present findings and recommendations to public hearings and City Council committees
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in urban planning or land use policy
- Expertise in NYC zoning regulations and land use procedures
- Strong GIS and data visualization skills (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Proven ability to manage complex public sector projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- NYS driver's license required
