Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive urban planning strategies aligned with Dallas' growth objectives
- Analyze zoning regulations and land use policies to ensure compliance with municipal codes
- Lead community engagement initiatives and public hearings to gather stakeholder input
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for city council and planning commission reviews
- Collaborate with engineering and environmental teams on infrastructure projects
- Monitor development trends and recommend policy adjustments to address emerging challenges
- Manage planning projects from conception through implementation phases
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Professional Planner (AICP) certification preferred
- Proficiency in GIS software and urban planning modeling tools
- Demonstrated experience with public policy analysis and community engagement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with public speaking experience
- Knowledge of Texas municipal regulations and state planning statutes
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
