Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive land use plans and zoning regulations for unincorporated areas
- Lead environmental impact reviews under CEQA and federal regulations
- Manage community engagement initiatives for major infrastructure projects
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform planning decisions
- Collaborate with federal/state agencies on transportation and housing initiatives
- Prepare reports and presentations for Board of Supervisors hearings
- Mentor junior planning staff and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal/regional government planning
- Valid AICP certification required
- Expertise in GIS mapping and spatial analysis software
- Strong understanding of California planning laws (GC 65500-67634)
- Experience with community outreach and public speaking
- Ability to manage complex projects with competing stakeholder interests
