Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive neighborhood revitalization plans using GIS mapping and demographic analysis
- Facilitate community outreach initiatives to gather stakeholder input for zoning amendments
- Develop sustainable infrastructure proposals aligned with Baltimore's Climate Action Plan
- Analyze development proposals for compliance with city codes and historical preservation guidelines
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for City Council and Planning Commission reviews
- Coordinate with transportation and housing departments to implement transit-oriented development
- Maintain accurate project databases and ensure compliance with federal grant requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive urban planning experience in municipal government
- Expert proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and urban modeling tools
- Proven track record of successful community engagement and public presentation
- Knowledge of Maryland state planning regulations and Baltimore City zoning codes
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex demographic and economic data
- Valid Maryland driver's license with clean driving record
- LEED AP certification preferred
