Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive land-use policies and zoning regulations
- Lead community outreach initiatives for major redevelopment projects
- Analyze demographic data and economic trends to inform planning decisions
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with engineering and transportation departments on infrastructure planning
- Manage capital improvement projects related to urban development
- Present planning proposals to city council and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive planning experience in municipal government
- Valid Florida AICP certification required
- Expertise in GIS mapping and urban design software
- Strong public speaking and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of Florida Growth Management Act and local ordinances
- Proven track record in affordable housing initiatives
- Ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities
