Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive urban planning strategies aligned with city growth initiatives
- Analyze zoning regulations and land use policies to ensure compliance with municipal codes
- Facilitate community outreach programs and public hearings to gather stakeholder input
- Prepare detailed environmental impact assessments and land development applications
- Collaborate with engineering and transportation departments on infrastructure planning
- Manage grant applications and federal funding opportunities for development projects
- Maintain accurate GIS mapping and planning documentation systems
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of professional urban planning experience with government entities
- Valid New Mexico Professional Planner (PP) certification
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD drafting
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA compliance and environmental reviews
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex land use regulations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Valid New Mexico driver's license
