Responsibilities
- Develop and revise comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, and land use regulations
- Analyze development proposals for compliance with city codes and long-term vision
- Lead community engagement sessions and public hearings
- Prepare technical reports, environmental assessments, and zoning recommendations
- Collaborate with engineering and transportation departments on infrastructure projects
- Manage grant applications and federal compliance for urban development programs
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of urban planning experience in municipal government
- Valid Missouri driver's license
- Strong proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with public hearings and community outreach
- Knowledge of Missouri Sunshine Law and open records requirements
