Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive land use plans and zoning regulations
- Lead community engagement initiatives for major infrastructure projects
- Analyze demographic and economic data to inform policy decisions
- Manage environmental impact assessments for development proposals
- Coordinate with state and federal agencies on grant-funded initiatives
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for city council meetings
- Supervise junior planning staff and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal planning experience
- Kansas AICP certification required
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with NEPA documentation
- Strong public speaking and stakeholder management skills
- Valid Kansas driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
