Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned beats to prevent crime, enforce state and local laws, and maintain order.
- Respond to emergency calls, including crimes in progress, disturbances, and medical emergencies.
- Conduct thorough investigations of suspicious activities and gather evidence for prosecution.
- Interact with the public to build trust, provide assistance, and resolve community concerns.
- Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports and maintain comprehensive records.
- Enforce traffic laws, issue citations, and manage traffic accidents safely.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and emergency services during multi-agency operations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age and a United States citizen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice preferred).
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, medical examination, and psychological evaluation.
- Pass the POST Physical Agility Test.
- No felony convictions or current domestic violence restraining orders.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
