Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including paving, patching, and resurfacing of city streets.
- Operate and maintain light to heavy construction equipment and hand tools safely.
- Clear snow and ice from streets, sidewalks, and public walkways during winter months.
- Assist in traffic control, flagging, and the setup of construction zones.
- Perform general maintenance on parks, public buildings, and grounds.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and debris.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (Class C) with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Basic knowledge of construction safety practices is a plus.
- Must be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required.
