Responsibilities
- Lead the full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure) for state IT infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with state regulations and security protocols.
- Mentor junior project managers and technical staff to foster a culture of excellence.
- Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Oversee the selection and implementation of new software and hardware solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, preferably within the public sector or government.
- Professional Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- Proven experience managing large-scale IT projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Texas background check and security clearance.
