Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, and network issues for internal state employees.
- Monitor system health and performance metrics during night operations to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Respond to and resolve service tickets in the ticketing system (ServiceNow) within established SLAs.
- Perform routine security patching, updates, and configuration management on server and workstation systems.
- Assist in the deployment and setup of new hardware and peripherals for incoming staff.
- Collaborate with the day shift team to hand over critical incidents and ensure continuity of service.
- Document all technical procedures and resolutions in the knowledge base.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in IT Help Desk or Technical Support roles.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, TCP/IP, and VPN configuration.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions during off-hours.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical users.
- Must be willing to work the night shift schedule (typically 6:00 PM – 2:00 AM).
