Responsibilities
- Design and oversee highway/bridge rehabilitation projects using Auto Civil 3D
- Conduct traffic impact studies and develop mitigation strategies
- Manage capital improvement budgets up to $5M
- Coordinate with local municipalities on transportation planning
- Ensure compliance with NCDOT and federal safety standards
- Lead public stakeholder meetings for community outreach
- Maintain project documentation in DOT's asset management system
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution
- 3+ years of transportation engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS
- Familiarity with NCDOT design standards and MUTCD
- Strong project management with PMP certification preferred
- Valid NC driver's license
- Experience with federal grant applications (e.g., TIGER, FASTLANE)
