Responsibilities
- Design and oversee transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and traffic systems
- Analyze traffic data and engineering reports to develop cost-effective solutions
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and safety standards
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and contractor coordination
- Conduct field inspections and quality assurance reviews
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of transportation engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and traffic modeling software
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD, AASHTO, and KDOT standards
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Kansas residency preferred for state government positions
