Responsibilities
- Design and oversee implementation of highway improvement projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Analyze traffic patterns and develop congestion mitigation strategies
- Prepare detailed engineering reports and compliance documentation
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies on project deliverables
- Manage project budgets and timelines using MS Project
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct site inspections
- Ensure adherence to TDOT design standards and FHWA regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited institution
- 5+ years of highway design experience with TDOT or equivalent DOT
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Advanced proficiency in MicroStation and transportation modeling software
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD and AASHTO design standards
- Proven project management experience with budgets exceeding $5M
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Tennessee driver's license
