Responsibilities
- Design and analyze transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and traffic systems
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Conduct field inspections and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and local government agencies
- Manage project budgets and timelines while maintaining quality standards
- Review and approve engineering plans submitted by external parties
- Utilize GIS and CAD software for project development and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 3 years of transportation engineering experience
- Kansas Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and transportation modeling software
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD and KDOT design standards
- Experience with project management methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license
