Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans for urban and rural communities in the Kansas City region
- Analyze traffic data and infrastructure conditions using GIS software and modeling tools
- Prepare grant applications and compliance documentation for federal funding programs
- Coordinate with local governments, transit agencies, and community stakeholders
- Conduct environmental reviews and impact assessments for proposed projects
- Present findings and recommendations to public officials and community groups
- Monitor project implementation and ensure compliance with transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in transportation planning or public infrastructure
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS) and traffic modeling tools
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with federal transportation grant programs (e.g., STIP, CMAQ)
- Valid Missouri driver's license
- Knowledge of Missouri transportation regulations and standards
