Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive transportation plans and policy recommendations for urban and rural corridors
- Analyze traffic flow patterns, multimodal transit data, and infrastructure capacity using GIS and statistical modeling tools
- Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and funding proposals for state and federal grants
- Coordinate with city planners, engineering teams, and community organizations to align projects with regional goals
- Manage transportation planning projects from concept through implementation, ensuring compliance with state/federal regulations
- Present findings to legislative committees, public forums, and executive leadership
- Monitor emerging transportation technologies and recommend integration strategies for future infrastructure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of progressive experience in transportation planning or public infrastructure development
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS Pro) and transportation modeling tools (TransCAD, Vistro)
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal/state transportation regulations (MAP-21, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 90)
- Experience with public engagement methodologies and stakeholder collaboration frameworks
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills with ability to synthesize complex data sets
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license with clean driving record
- Excellent written communication abilities for technical reports and policy documents
