Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required by TSA protocols
- Operate advanced imaging technology (AIT) and explosive detection systems (EDS)
- Enforce security regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Adhere to TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and federal guidelines
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass thorough background investigation and security clearance
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn technical equipment
- Strong communication skills in English (additional languages a plus)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must pass pre-employment drug test and medical evaluation
