Responsibilities
- Inspect carry-on baggage and cargo to detect prohibited items using X-ray equipment and other screening technology.
- Screen passengers and their property to ensure compliance with security regulations.
- Identify, isolate, and resolve security threats through effective communication and intervention.
- Utilize screening equipment and technology to detect threats while maintaining a customer-service oriented approach.
- Adhere to all TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security protocols.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness and stamina to perform screening duties effectively.
- Collaborate with fellow security officers to ensure the smooth operation of checkpoints and screening lanes.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate.
- Ability to pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check and a security threat assessment.
- Ability to pass a drug screening test.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the position.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
