Responsibilities
- Operational Screening: Operate X-ray machines, CT scanners, and explosive trace detection equipment to inspect passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo.
- Security Protocols: Conduct thorough pat-downs and physical searches to identify prohibited items and potential threats.
- Regulatory Compliance: Strictly adhere to TSA security directives, regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Passenger Assistance: Assist passengers with special needs and provide clear, concise instructions during the screening process.
- Threat Assessment: Maintain high situational awareness to identify anomalies and report suspicious behavior immediately.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily equipment checks and report malfunctions to the shift supervisor promptly.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting and criminal history review.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Medical Standards: Must pass a medical examination and drug screening.
- Security Clearance: No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
