As a TSA Security Screener, you will be the first line of defense in protecting passengers and property. You will operate state-of-the-art screening equipment and perform vital security functions in a fast-paced, professional environment. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray technology and metal detection equipment.
- Identify prohibited items and security threats while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
- Adhere to all TSA security directives, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with precision and consistency.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the traveling public and fellow team members to resolve security alerts.
- Perform random and comprehensive searches to ensure the highest level of aviation security compliance.
- Document inspection results accurately and report any anomalies or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status is required.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
- Ability to pass a Federal background investigation, drug screening, and medical examination.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 10+ hours) and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs (22 kg).
- No felony convictions involving violence, theft, or dishonesty.
- Must be willing to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
