Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, luggage, and cargo for prohibited items using imaging technology and X-ray equipment.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures to ensure the safety of the traveling public and airport staff.
- Operate screening equipment and resolve alarms to prevent unauthorized items from entering secure areas.
- Communicate effectively with passengers to ensure compliance with security directives and de-escalate situations professionally.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness and be prepared to stand for long periods during shifts.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient screening operations during peak travel times.
- Participate in emergency response drills and training exercises.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- No felony convictions (subject to background investigation and security clearance).
- Ability to pass a medical examination and drug screening.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physically capable of lifting and standing for extended periods.
