Role Overview:
As a TSA Security Screener, you will be responsible for screening passengers, carry-on baggage, and checked baggage to detect any threat to transportation security. You will operate state-of-the-art screening equipment and ensure compliance with security protocols while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor with the traveling public.
Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and checked baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and metal detectors.
- Perform physical pat-downs and bag searches when automated screening results indicate a potential threat.
- Operate and monitor advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment to identify security threats.
- Adhere to strict TSA security protocols and regulations at all times.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with travelers to explain screening procedures and resolve issues.
- Document all observations, violations, and incidents accurately in security logs.
- Maintain a high level of physical fitness and situational awareness during shifts.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a mandatory background check, drug screen, and medical assessment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- No disqualifying criminal convictions as defined by the TSA Standards of Conduct.
