Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for dangerous items using X-ray screening equipment and walk-through metal detectors.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures to ensure compliance with federal laws.
- Assist travelers with accessibility needs, including wheelchair assistance and special screening procedures.
- Conduct random screenings of passengers and cargo to deter security threats.
- Document screening results and incidents accurately in the Security Information System (SIS).
- Communicate effectively with passengers to resolve security concerns and provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkpoint area to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Ability to pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check and credit check.
- Ability to pass a medical examination, including drug screening.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods, often up to 10 hours a day.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn new screening technologies quickly.
- No history of illegal drug use in the last 12 months.
