Responsibilities
- Conduct Security Screening: Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology to screen passengers, baggage, and cargo for prohibited items.
- Identify Threats: Detect and deter potential security threats to aviation and transportation infrastructure.
- Assist Travelers: Provide courteous and efficient customer service, assisting passengers with inquiries regarding security procedures and restrictions.
- Enforce Regulations: Adhere to all TSA security directives, policies, and federal laws to maintain a secure environment.
- Physical Inspection: Perform pat-down searches and bag checks when necessary, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all required reports and documentation regarding screening activities and incidents.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal history background check and fingerprinting.
- Health Standards: Must meet vision standards (corrected or uncorrected) and be able to pass a drug screen.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive motions.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read and understand written instructions in English.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
