Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo to detect prohibited items and threats to aviation security.
- Operate advanced X-ray screening equipment and walk-through metal detectors to identify potential security risks.
- Respond immediately and effectively to security breaches, alarms, and emergency situations in accordance with established protocols.
- Explain screening procedures to passengers clearly and courteously to ensure a positive customer service experience.
- Perform regular equipment inspections and routine maintenance to ensure screening technology is functioning correctly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while adhering to strict TSA dress codes and grooming standards.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must be willing to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for extended periods, often in a controlled environment.
- Must pass a drug test and a medical examination to demonstrate physical fitness.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
