Responsibilities
- Conduct Screening Operations: Operate X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and body scanners to detect prohibited items and potential security threats.
- Pat-Down Procedures: Perform thorough pat-down searches and bag inspections to ensure compliance with TSA security regulations.
- Passenger Verification: Verify passenger identification and boarding passes, ensuring all travelers meet entry requirements.
- Threat Assessment: Remain vigilant for suspicious behavior or unattended items and report potential security breaches immediately.
- Customer Service: Assist passengers with special needs, answer inquiries regarding security procedures, and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor under pressure.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor screening equipment functionality and report malfunctions to supervisors to ensure operational readiness.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national to apply.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a criminal history background check and security threat assessment.
- Drug Screening: Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
