Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Conduct thorough screening of passengers, property, and baggage in strict accordance with TSA regulations and protocols.
- Equipment Operation: Operate X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, and body scanners to identify potential threats or prohibited items.
- Physical Inspection: Perform pat-downs and physical inspections of individuals and their belongings when screening technology indicates a need.
- Customer Service: Provide courteous and efficient customer service to travelers while maintaining a professional demeanor under pressure.
- Security Monitoring: Monitor security checkpoints for irregularities, report equipment malfunctions, and ensure the integrity of the screening process.
- Compliance: Adhere to all TSA directives, airport policies, and safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check and successfully obtain a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Secret Security Clearance.
- Drug Screening: Must be able to pass a drug screening test.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent (or equivalent work experience).
- Availability: Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive motions.
