Responsibilities
- Design and oversee infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and drainage systems in compliance with Los Angeles County codes.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments to ensure construction meets safety and engineering standards.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, cost estimates, and project schedules for stakeholder review.
- Collaborate with city planners, architects, and contractors to resolve engineering challenges efficiently.
- Manage budget allocations and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff and interns.
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs and urgent public service requests as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering, public works, or a related government sector.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS mapping tools.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations and safety codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced government environment.
