Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs of public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate municipal equipment (e.g., trucks, mowers, heavy machinery) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service requests during severe weather events
- Ensure compliance with city codes and safety regulations in all operations
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated public projects
- Conduct regular inspections of public spaces and report hazards
- Provide courteous public assistance to residents and businesses
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, maintenance, or construction
- Valid Georgia driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
