Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment (street sweepers, garbage trucks, etc.)
- Perform routine infrastructure inspections and repairs
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and city regulations
- Respond to emergency service requests (weather events, spills, etc.)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works projects
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Provide excellent customer service to DC residents
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious mindset
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime
- DC residency required upon hire
