Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the department's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
- Configure, troubleshoot, and secure network hardware and software to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Manage user access, permissions, and identity management systems in compliance with government security standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new IT initiatives and software upgrades.
- Monitor system performance and analyze data to proactively resolve potential IT issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal staff regarding hardware and software problems.
- Ensure all IT systems adhere to strict federal and state regulatory compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in IT systems administration, preferably within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), VPNs, and server hardware (Windows Server/Linux).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Clearance to work with sensitive government data (or willingness to undergo background checks).
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation for occasional on-site travel.
