Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, ordinances, and minutes with meticulous attention to detail
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes in compliance with state regulations
- Administer public records requests and ensure timely, accurate document dissemination
- Coordinate with city council members, departments, and external stakeholders on legislative matters
- Develop and implement records management systems ensuring compliance with retention policies
- Prepare and publish official notices, agendas, and public meeting documentation
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and official documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal governance or records management experience
- Deep knowledge of Texas Local Government Code and open records laws
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Exceptional written communication skills for drafting official documents
- Proven ability to manage high-volume public records requests
- Professional certification as Municipal Clerk (MMC) or equivalent strongly preferred
- Experience with election administration procedures
