Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate light machinery (sweepers, mowers, hand tools) safely and efficiently
- Respond to urgent public works requests and storm emergencies
- Assist with waste management, recycling programs, and beautification projects
- Conduct daily safety inspections and report hazards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement initiatives
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (required)
- 1+ years of maintenance/construction experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Strong commitment to public service and community values
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
- Clean driving record and background check required
