Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail: Sort and deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along an established route in a timely and efficient manner.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, handle inquiries, and resolve delivery issues with a friendly demeanor.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a postal vehicle (car, van, or motorcycle) while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Physical Stamina: Perform physical tasks such as lifting packages (up to 70 lbs), walking, standing, and bending for extended periods throughout the day.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of mail and package delivery logs and handle cash and money orders responsibly.
- Mail Sorting: Process incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail for transport to the post office.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Driving: A valid driver's license is required (motorcycle license may be required for rural routes).
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly and possess the physical stamina to walk and stand for long durations.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
