Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' benefit claims with 99% accuracy
- Conduct eligibility assessments for VA healthcare programs
- Provide direct support to veterans navigating complex benefit systems
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and community partners
- Maintain confidential case files in compliance with federal regulations
- Train and mentor new staff on VA protocols and procedures
- Participate in community outreach initiatives for veterans
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in social services or veterans affairs
- Proficiency in VA claims processing systems (VBMS, VBA)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Knowledge of federal regulations (38 CFR)
- Experience with case management software
- Valid New York State driver's license
