Responsibilities
- Review and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation claims for accuracy and completeness
- Analyze medical evidence and service records to determine claim eligibility
- Communicate with veterans, attorneys, and medical professionals to gather additional information
- Prepare detailed decision letters explaining the rationale behind claim determinations
- Maintain accurate case records in the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS)
- Stay current on VA regulations and policy updates affecting claims processing
- Participate in regular training to enhance adjudication skills and knowledge
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to analyze complex medical and legal documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems
- Experience in claims processing, healthcare, or veterans services preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Knowledge of federal regulations and procedures related to veterans benefits
