Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems for the Philadelphia VA Medical Center
- Implement cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive veteran health data
- Coordinate system upgrades and integration with federal healthcare networks
- Provide technical support to healthcare staff resolving IT issues
- Develop training materials for medical staff on new health IT systems
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and federal IT security standards
- Collaborate with IT leadership on strategic health technology initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience with EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic, Cerner)
- Federal IT security certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP)
- Experience with healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA, HITECH)
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex technical issues
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Experience with federal IT infrastructure requirements (FedRAMP, NIST)
