Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain water mains, valves, and fire hydrants to ensure optimal system pressure and flow.
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and vacuum trucks safely and efficiently.
- Perform leak detection and locate underground water infrastructure using advanced locating technology.
- Respond to emergency repair calls and perform restoration work in residential and commercial areas.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations during field operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in water utility operations is a plus.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
- Previous experience in water distribution or municipal infrastructure maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
