Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain water mains, service lines, and fire hydrants.
- Operate heavy machinery, including backhoes, trenchers, and vacuum trucks, safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and utility plans to locate underground utilities.
- Respond to emergency service calls, perform leak detection, and restore service after repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance on water storage tanks and pumping stations to ensure system integrity.
- Clear debris from storm drains and maintain rights-of-way in a safe manner.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Texas Class C Driverβs License.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform manual labor in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of water distribution systems and hydraulic principles is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and emergency call-outs.
