Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to ensure institutional safety
- Conduct regular security rounds and inspections of living quarters and common areas
- Document incidents, inmate behavior, and facility maintenance issues in official reports
- Operate security systems including control panels, gates, and surveillance equipment
- Respond to emergencies and medical situations following established protocols
- Transport inmates between facilities as required for court appearances or medical treatment
- Maintain accurate logs and administrative records during weekend operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Physical ability to meet job requirements including standing for extended periods
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
