Responsibilities
- Conduct weekend inspections of commercial vehicles and cargo at international ports of entry
- Verify documentation compliance with federal regulations (CBP, FDA, USDA)
- Operate X-ray scanners and detection equipment for contraband identification
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies on weekend enforcement operations
- Maintain detailed electronic records of inspections and findings
- Respond to ad-hoc weekend border incidents and emergencies
- Train junior officers on weekend-specific protocols
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid driver's license
- Minimum 3 years in logistics, customs, or law enforcement
- Proficient in Spanish (written and spoken)
- Familiarity with federal trade regulations (19 CFR)
- Ability to work weekends and holidays consistently
- Pass background check and physical fitness assessment
